15 July 2026 - Our commentary in the Q2 2026 edition of Future Atlas examines tenant interiors as a significant yet often under-recognised aspect of building decarbonisation. While base buildings are increasingly designed and operated for efficiency, a substantial share of a building's environmental impact is influenced by tenant fit-outs, operational energy use, material replacement cycles, and workplace decisions.
There is a need for stronger landlord-tenant collaboration, greater transparency in building performance data, increased accountability for carbon within interior spaces, and design approaches that extend the lifespan of fit-outs.

24 August 2026 - Lauren Ang, Managing Principal of Adapt D&B, joined industry leaders at Connect-X 2026 on 14 August at NTUC Centre Singapore for a panel discussion exploring how AI and digital technology are shaping the future of the built environment. The discussion highlighted the importance of applying technology with purpose, while recognising that professional judgement, experience and human expertise remain central to delivering better outcomes.
Organised by Quantum APAC and The Future Atlas, the inaugural event brought together practitioners across development, architecture, design, technology, materials and business transformation.

Understanding Indoor Environmental Quality Strategies for Green Interiors
09 April 2026 - Indoor Environmental Quality is a core pillar of high-performance buildings and a key focus of the new Green Mark for Interiors certification scheme.
At the SGBC Lunch and Learn hosted at the Singapore Sustainability Academy Annex in collaboration with SGBC Member Adapt D&B LLP, we explored how integrated IEQ design strategies and measurable performance outcomes can transform interior environments.
Through real-world case studies and practical, evidence-based insights, the session examined strategies for designing interiors that support thermal comfort, good indoor air quality and smart integration. It also demonstrated how effective sustainable interior design can, mitigate Sick Building Syndrome, improve interior performance and productivity, reduce energy consumption as well as deliver long-term value for owners and occupiers.

Adapt D&B has attained the Singapore Green Building Services (SGBS) Certification for Environmental Sustainability (ES)
30 July 2026 - Adapt D&B has received the Singapore Green Building Services (SGBS) Certification for Environmental Sustainability Services from the Singapore Green Building Council. ES services enhance traditional disciplines like architecture, interior design and engineering by integrating sustainability considerations to improve building performance. Certified firms help new and existing buildings achieve higher Green Mark ratings, including Super Low Energy and Zero Energy standards. SGBS‑certified ES firms have Green Mark Accredited Professionals (GMAPs), who can lead projects as Responsible Persons and drive sustainability outcomes.

Green Mark for Interiors: Achieving Sustainability and Wellbeing
17 March 2026 - SGBC’s “Greening from the Inside Out – Sustainable Interiors in Practice” webinar brought together nearly 200 industry professionals to explore how interior spaces can support both occupant wellbeing and environmental stewardship.
Key discussions included an introduction to the Green Mark for Interiors (GMI) certification scheme and its role in achieving measurable sustainability outcomes by SGBC.
Lauren Ang from Adapt D&B shared insights into five interconnected principles of sustainable interiors: Energy Efficiency, Health and Wellbeing, Environmental Stewardship, SMART Integration, and Low Carbon.
Grobrix’s Mathew Howe highlighted how edible, interactive greenery can enhance biophilic design, occupant engagement, and workplace wellness.

Industry Circular - New BCA Green Mark for Interiors (GMI) Scheme
13 June 2025 - The new BCA Green Mark for Interiors (GMI) scheme harmonises the current user-centric schemes and aims to address climate change through enhanced energy efficiency and carbon reduction measures. It also incorporates other sustainability aspects crucial for interior spaces. GMI will complement the existing Green Mark scheme for new and existing buildings while appealing to a broader range of projects and users seeking to implement sustainable fit-outs and operations.
