15 Jul 2026 - Our commentary in the Q2 2026 edition of Future Atlas examines tenant interiors as a significant yet often under-recognised aspect of building decarbonisation. While base buildings are increasingly designed and operated for efficiency, a substantial share of a building's environmental impact is influenced by tenant fit-outs, operational energy use, material replacement cycles, and workplace decisions.

There is a need for stronger landlord-tenant collaboration, greater transparency in building performance data, increased accountability for carbon within interior spaces, and design approaches that extend the lifespan of fit-outs.

13 June 2025 - The new BCA Green Mark for Interiors (GMI) scheme harmonises the current user-centric schemes and aims to address climate change through enhanced energy efficiency and carbon reduction measures. It also incorporates other sustainability aspects crucial for interior spaces. GMI will complement the existing Green Mark scheme for new and existing buildings while appealing to a broader range of projects and users seeking to implement sustainable fit-outs and operations.

Adapt D&B has attained the Singapore Green Building Services (SGBS) Certification for Environmental Sustainability (ES)

05 January 2026 - Adapt D&B has received the Singapore Green Building Services (SGBS) Certification for Environmental Sustainability Services from the Singapore Green Building Council. ES services enhance traditional disciplines like architecture, interior design and engineering by integrating sustainability considerations to improve building performance. Certified firms help new and existing buildings achieve higher Green Mark ratings, including Super Low Energy and Zero Energy standards. SGBS‑certified ES firms have Green Mark Accredited Professionals (GMAPs), who can lead projects as Responsible Persons and drive sustainability outcomes.
